Old City Metro: Revanth Reddy Pushes for Faster Hyderabad Old City Metro Works

Old City Metro: Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy has asked officials to accelerate the Hyderabad Old city Metro project and ensure that pending works are completed without further delay.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting with officials at MCRHRD on Tuesday to discuss the progress of the Old City Metro project. Several decisions were taken regarding the MGBS to Chandrayangutta Metro corridor, which is part of Metro Phase 2.

Revanth Reddy directed officials to complete the proposed road widening work along the 7.7 kilometre stretch at the earliest. He also asked them to start the tender process for the Metro works as soon as possible.

Pending land acquisition was another key issue discussed during the meeting. The Chief Minister instructed officials to speed up the process so that it does not hold up the project.

With passenger numbers expected to increase, Revanth Reddy also suggested purchasing additional Metro coaches. He asked officials to seek technical advice from Delhi Metro authorities and explore the latest technology that could improve the system.

The review also covered preparations for the Invest Telangana Global Summit planned for December. The Chief Minister sought a detailed report on investments announced during the previous summit and the progress made since then.

Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare a stronger plan for attracting fresh investments into Telangana. He said the upcoming summit should be organised to international standards and asked officials to include prominent personalities who have made a mark in different fields.

Officials were also asked to provide complete details of last year’s investments and their progress. The Chief Minister stressed the need for a clear action plan to further improve investment opportunities across the state.
