Andhra Pradesh Government Orders Major IAS Reshuffle Across Key Departments

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a major administrative reshuffle involving IAS and IFS officers, with new postings and additional responsibilities across several key departments.

The Andhra Pradesh government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, moving several senior IAS and IFS officers into new positions and assigning additional responsibilities to others. Chief Secretary G Sai Prasad issued the orders through GO RT No 1539 on Friday, stating that the changes would take effect immediately.

The reshuffle brings changes to important areas including school education, tourism, transport, housing, health, urban development and infrastructure. A total of 22 officers have been covered under the latest orders, involving transfers, fresh appointments and full additional charge arrangements.

Shamsher Singh Rawat, who was serving as Special Chief Secretary in the General Administration Department, has been shifted to the Tourism and Culture Department as Special Chief Secretary. He will also hold additional responsibilities related to Youth Services and Sports, Services and HRM, GPM and AR departments.

J Shyamala Rao, who was serving as Chief Secretary in the GAD Political Department, has been moved to the School Education Department as Chief Secretary. He will also handle Higher Education, Skill Development and Training, along with GAD Political responsibilities.

Konа Shashidhar, previously Secretary of the School Education Department, has been transferred as Secretary of the Transport, Roads and Buildings Department. He will additionally oversee the Infrastructure and Investments Department.

In another significant appointment, IFS officer M Siva Prasad has been made Joint Managing Director of APSRTC after his services were placed under the Transport Department. He will continue to hold additional responsibility as Director of Social Welfare and Social Defence.

Kata Amrapali has been relieved from her position as Managing Director of APTDC and directed to report to the General Administration Department until further posting. Pattan Shetty Ravi Subhash, who was serving as Secretary of APPSC, has been appointed as APTDC Managing Director. He will also hold additional charge as CEO of APTA and Secretary of APPSC.

Urban administration has also seen a major assignment. S Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, has been appointed Special Officer for the Godavari Pushkarams while continuing his existing duties. Dr Narayana Bharat Gupta, Commissioner of Higher Education, has been appointed Joint Special Officer for the event.

Muthyalaraju Revu has been shifted from Commissioner of the AP State Institute of Rural Development to Commissioner of Archaeology and Museums. K Venkata Krishna, who has been reappointed as OSD to the Deputy Chief Minister, will additionally handle the Rural Development Institute Commissioner post.

Health administration has received new responsibilities as well. KVN Chakradhara Babu, Director of Secondary Health, has been given full additional charge as Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare and Managing Director of the National Health Mission.

Hepsiba Rani Korlapati, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Special Secretary in the Housing Department. She will also take charge as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the AP Housing Corporation and Commissioner of the AP weaker sections housing programme.

P Arun Babu, previously Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the AP Housing Corporation, has been transferred as Director General of the Drug Control Administration. He will also hold additional charge as Director of AYUSH.

Changes have also been made in the Visakhapatnam metropolitan administration. N Teja Bharat, who was serving as VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner, has been directed to report to the General Administration Department without a fresh posting. Prakhar Jain, who was CEO of RTGS, has been appointed as VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner.

Geetanjali Sharma, Managing Director of AP State Fibernet Limited, has been given full additional charge as RTGS CEO. Chetan TS, Joint Secretary in the CCLA office, has been assigned additional responsibility as Director of Disaster Management.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has also received new appointments. Retired IAS officer Dr A Sharath, who was reappointed as TTD Joint Executive Officer for Health and Education, has been appointed Joint Executive Officer of TTD. Prabhala Gopinath, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed TTD JEO for Health and Education.

AAL Padmavathi has been appointed CEO of the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, while M Jayakrishna has been appointed Commissioner of Tirupati Municipal Corporation.

The government has also relieved B Anil Kumar Reddy from his position as Managing Director of AP Swachha Andhra Corporation and directed him to report to the General Administration Department.

IFS officer B Sunil Kumar Reddy, who was serving as Managing Director of the AP Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation, has been given full additional charge as Managing Director of the AP Swachha Andhra Corporation.

The latest reshuffle reflects a broad administrative restructuring across Andhra Pradesh, with senior officers being moved into departments that handle education, tourism, transport, housing, health, urban development, infrastructure and major public programmes.
