The US state of Massachusetts has officially proclaimed August 15 as India Day, recognizing the remarkable contributions of the Indian American community and celebrating India’s Independence Day. The announcement highlights the strong cultural and economic ties shared between India and the United States.
Governor Maura Healey said the recognition is intended to honor the achievements of people of Indian origin who have made a meaningful impact across Massachusetts. She also encouraged residents to participate in community events that will be organized to mark the occasion.
