Young India Skills University Invites Applications for BSc and BTech Programmes

The Telangana government has invited applications for BSc and BTech programmes at the Young India Skills University, a flagship initiative designed to combine higher education, skill development and employment opportunities under one integrated platform. Admissions are currently open, with the application deadline set for August 4.

The university is being developed at Future City in Rangareddy district on a 58 acre campus with an estimated investment of Rs 200 crore. The permanent campus is expected to be ready by December and will serve as a major centre for advanced skill based education aligned with the needs of modern industries.

To bridge the gap between academics and employment, the university has partnered with 26 leading industries and introduced apprenticeship integrated degree programmes. Students enrolling in BTech, BSc, BBA and postgraduate courses will receive practical industry exposure alongside classroom learning, improving their job readiness.

As part of its long term expansion plan, the state government intends to integrate 65 Industrial Training Institutes, 119 Advanced Technical Centres and 111 Polytechnic colleges with the university. Necessary amendments to education laws and university regulations are also being initiated to strengthen the unified skill development ecosystem.

The institution will also implement nationally recognised certification programmes and central government skill initiatives through its affiliated training centres. Polytechnic students will benefit from industry based elective subjects, credit transfer facilities and stronger collaboration with international skill development centres.

Admissions are currently open for degree programmes in applied life sciences and healthcare. Candidates seeking admission to the BTech in Applied Life Sciences Technology programme can qualify through JEE Main performance or the university entrance process, depending on eligibility. Students applying for the three year BSc in Cardiovascular Technology must meet the prescribed academic requirements and will be selected through a written examination and interview.

Officials said the university’s objective extends beyond providing degrees. Students will also receive career guidance, placement support, entrepreneurship mentoring, incubation facilities and assistance for launching new ventures, making the institution a comprehensive centre for education, innovation and employment.
