Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Bhogapuram International Airport
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram and reviewed its modern facilities before attending a grand cultural welcome ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in a grand ceremony attended by senior political leaders, government officials and representatives of the aviation sector. The event marked a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure and connectivity development.
After inaugurating the airport, the Prime Minister toured the passenger terminal and reviewed its modern infrastructure. Representatives from the GMR Group briefed him on the terminal’s architectural design, check in facilities and advanced technological features that have been incorporated into the new airport.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, senior Union Ministers, Members of Parliament and officials from the GMR Group.
A major highlight of the event was a large scale presentation of the traditional Thinsa tribal dance. More than 13750 tribal women, students and members of self help groups from Alluri Sitarama Raju, Parvathipuram Manyam and Polavaram regions participated in the performance to welcome the Prime Minister.

A specially designed cultural corridor was created between the airport terminal and the public meeting venue. Prime Minister Modi travelled along the route in an open top vehicle, watching the vibrant tribal performance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The inauguration of the international airport is expected to improve air connectivity for North Andhra, promote tourism, attract investment and support the region’s long term economic growth. The new facility is also expected to become an important gateway for domestic and international travelers.
