Flipkart Set to Enter Food Delivery Market With Pilot Launch Soon
Flipkart is preparing to launch its food delivery service through a pilot rollout in the coming weeks aiming to compete with Swiggy and Zomato while expanding its growing digital ecosystem.

The online food delivery market in India continues to witness rapid growth as more consumers choose to order meals from the comfort of their homes. With demand increasing across cities, e commerce giant Flipkart is now preparing to enter the highly competitive food delivery business.
Known for delivering everything from electronics and home appliances to fashion, beauty products and everyday essentials, Flipkart has built a strong presence in the online shopping industry. The company is now looking to expand its services by adding food delivery to its growing portfolio.
Flipkart Chief Executive Officer Kalyan Krishnamurthy confirmed the development during a recent media interaction. He said the company plans to introduce the food delivery service within the next few weeks through a pilot programme. If the initial rollout receives a positive response, the service is expected to expand to more cities across the country.
The move is expected to place Flipkart in direct competition with established food delivery platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato. As the demand for quick and convenient meal delivery continues to rise, the company sees an opportunity to strengthen its position in India’s digital commerce market.
The company has not yet revealed whether the service will operate through a separate application or be integrated into the existing Flipkart app. According to the CEO, more details about the platform and its rollout strategy will be announced closer to the official launch.
With its extensive delivery network and large customer base, Flipkart hopes to make a strong entry into the food delivery segment and offer users another convenient service through its expanding ecosystem.
