Hyderabad Schools Declare Holiday Following Telangana Education Bandh Call

Several schools in Hyderabad remained closed on Friday after student organisations announced an education bandh across Telangana. Educational institutions informed parents and students about the holiday through official communication late on Thursday night.

Many schools that had scheduled examinations for the day also postponed the tests. Fresh examination dates are expected to be announced by the respective institutions after reviewing their academic calendars.

The bandh was called by the National Students’ Union of India along with several Left affiliated student organisations. The groups said the protest was organised to express solidarity with students participating in demonstrations across the country and to raise concerns about issues affecting the education sector.

School managements decided to suspend regular classes as a precautionary measure to avoid inconvenience to students, parents and staff during the bandh. Several colleges also issued similar notifications regarding the closure.

Parents received updates through school messaging platforms and WhatsApp groups, informing them about the holiday and the postponement of examinations. Students were advised to wait for further instructions regarding revised schedules.

The bandh affected the normal functioning of educational institutions in several areas of Hyderabad, while school authorities continued monitoring the situation before resuming regular academic activities.
