High Level Meeting in New Delhi

The Defence Acquisition Council meeting brought together top military leadership, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth, Navy Chief Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, and senior defence officials. They reviewed the procurement proposals before giving the final approval.

First DAC Meeting After Three Months

The latest meeting was the first Defence Acquisition Council session in nearly three months. The council had last met in March, when it approved an important proposal to procure five additional S400 air defence systems from Russia. The latest decision continues India’s efforts to modernise its armed forces with advanced technology and strategic defence assets.

Focus on Defence Modernisation

The fresh procurement package reflects the government’s continued focus on enhancing national security through indigenous and advanced defence systems. The approved purchases are expected to improve surveillance, electronic warfare, and overall operational efficiency across the armed forces.
