Haldia Pipeline Fire: Massive Fire Erupts at Haldia Refinery Pipeline Leaving 15 Workers Injured

Haldia Pipeline Fire: A major fire broke out at a pipeline linked to Haldia Petrochemicals Limited in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district, leaving at least 15 workers injured. Emergency teams rushed to the site as flames quickly spread across the surrounding industrial area.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 2.45 am in a pipeline used for transporting naphtha. The fire intensified rapidly, prompting an immediate emergency response from local authorities and fire services.

Several of the injured workers sustained serious burn injuries. Five of them were shifted to Tamluk Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment, while others received medical attention at nearby healthcare facilities. Officials said some of the injured remain in critical condition.

The flames also spread beyond the industrial premises, affecting residential areas in Ward 13 of Chiranjeebpur in Haldia. Nearby railway equipment was damaged in the blaze, adding to the impact of the incident.

Around 12 fire engines were deployed to control the fire, with firefighters working continuously to prevent the flames from spreading further. Emergency personnel also focused on securing nearby installations to avoid additional damage.

Authorities have not yet announced the exact cause of the fire. An investigation is expected to be launched after the situation is brought completely under control to determine how the incident occurred.
