Metro Phase Two Talks: Efforts to advance major infrastructure projects in Telangana gained momentum as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Union Minister Kishan Reddy jointly met Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi. The meeting focused on the expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail and several key development proposals related to the state.
A major part of the discussions revolved around Hyderabad Metro Phase Two, which is considered one of the most important urban transport projects planned for the city. Leaders reviewed the progress of the proposal and explored ways to accelerate its implementation.
Funding support for the metro expansion also came up during the talks. Sources indicated that discussions included the possibility of securing financial assistance through the Indian Railway Finance Corporation, a move expected to help advance the large scale project.
The meeting followed another high level discussion held a day earlier with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. During that interaction, Revanth Reddy and Kishan Reddy reportedly examined financing mechanisms and other requirements connected to the proposed metro expansion.
Ashwini Vaishnaw also participated in the latest meeting, highlighting the importance being attached to the project at both the state and central government levels. Officials are said to be working closely to address financial and administrative aspects linked to the proposal.
Apart from the metro project, the leaders exchanged views on several strategic infrastructure initiatives aimed at supporting Telangana’s growth and improving urban connectivity. The discussions are expected to contribute to faster decision making on projects that are considered crucial for the state’s future development.
