Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced major yoga initiatives across Andhra Pradesh aiming to improve public health promote wellness and integrate yoga into daily life statewide.

Healthy Andhra Through Yoga: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has outlined an ambitious plan to make yoga a part of everyday life across the state, emphasizing that a Healthy Andhra Pradesh remains one of the government’s key priorities. He said the administration is committed to taking yoga to every household and encouraging citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Addressing the International Yoga Day celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister participated in yoga sessions alongside yoga guru Ramdev Baba. During the event, he highlighted the importance of physical fitness, mental wellbeing and spiritual balance in building a stronger society.

As part of the government’s wellness strategy, Chandrababu announced that permanent yoga centers will be established under village and ward secretariat limits. He also revealed plans to appoint dedicated officials at district and mandal levels to oversee yoga related activities and ensure effective implementation of the programs.

The Chief Minister stated that a special digital platform called Yogandhra will be launched to support yoga initiatives throughout the state. He added that an expert committee will be formed to develop standardized yoga practices and training methods for wider public participation.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing global recognition to yoga, Chandrababu noted that the ancient practice is now embraced in nearly 190 countries. He also appreciated the efforts of Ramdev Baba in making yoga accessible to millions of people across India and beyond.

Chandrababu urged people to stay away from unhealthy food habits and dedicate at least one hour every day to yoga and meditation. According to him, regular practice can significantly improve health and reduce the need for frequent hospital visits.

The Chief Minister further announced that the Sanjeevani project will be launched across Andhra Pradesh from August 15, with yoga playing an important role in the initiative. He also revealed that next year’s International Yoga Day celebrations are planned to be held in Tirupati, reinforcing the state’s commitment to wellness and preventive healthcare.
