Alwal Electrocution Tragedy: A tragic incident in Alwal claimed the lives of a father and daughter after they were electrocuted while attempting to clear debris caused by heavy rainfall. The accident has once again highlighted the dangers posed by exposed electrical infrastructure during severe weather conditions.
The victims were identified as Sandeep, aged 45, and his 16 year old daughter Ritika. Both reportedly came into contact with live electric wires while trying to remove branches from a tree that had fallen near their residence. Sandeep’s wife, Swetha, sustained minor injuries during the incident.
According to preliminary information, intense rainfall on Friday night caused a tree to collapse onto a car parked in front of the family’s home. In an effort to clear the obstruction, family members stepped outside and began removing the fallen branches.

During the process, Sandeep and Ritika unknowingly touched live electrical wires that were entangled with the tree. The contact resulted in a severe electric shock, leading to their deaths at the scene.
Local residents and emergency responders rushed to assist after learning about the incident. However, the father and daughter could not be saved. The heartbreaking loss has left family members and neighbors in deep shock.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. Officials are also expected to examine whether safety precautions related to electrical lines were adequately maintained in the area.
