Telangana Rain Alert: Heavy Rain Alert Issued for Telangana as Showers Intensify in Hyderabad
Telangana Rain Alert: The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall across several Telangana districts, while Hyderabad witnessed intense showers, gusty winds, and weather related disruptions in multiple areas.

Telangana Rain Alert: Residents across Telangana have been advised to stay alert as the India Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall activity over the next two days. Several districts are likely to receive heavy showers accompanied by strong winds, prompting authorities to issue weather advisories and yellow alerts in vulnerable areas.
Hyderabad was among the first places to experience the changing weather pattern. Dark clouds gathered over the city before heavy rain, thunder, and lightning swept through multiple localities. The sudden downpour brought much needed relief from recent heat but also caused temporary disruptions to traffic and daily activities.
Weather officials have identified districts including Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, and Mahabubnagar as areas likely to receive heavy rainfall. Wind speeds are expected to reach between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour during thunderstorms in some locations.
The rainfall activity is being driven by favorable monsoon conditions and changing atmospheric patterns across the region. Forecasts indicate that rain intensity could increase further on Wednesday, especially in Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. Authorities have issued yellow alerts for these areas as a precautionary measure.
Several other districts including Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, and Medak are expected to witness moderate rainfall. Kamareddy may experience light to moderate showers through the day, according to weather officials.
In Hyderabad, strong winds accompanying the rain led to a few incidents involving fallen trees. A large tree collapsed on VST Road in Ramnagar, while another tree fell in Hyderguda, resulting in traffic congestion and delays for commuters. Waterlogging was also reported from a few stretches of road across the city.
The impact of the weather was felt beyond transportation. Parts of Musheerabad experienced temporary power interruptions after strong winds affected electricity infrastructure. Civic agencies were deployed to clear roads and restore normal services wherever required.
Officials are continuing to monitor weather developments closely and have urged residents in low lying and vulnerable areas to remain cautious. With rainfall expected to continue over the coming days, authorities are preparing for possible localized flooding, traffic disruptions, and weather related emergencies.
