Revanth Reddy Tells MLAs to Stay Grounded and Connect With Party Workers
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged party leaders to stay connected with grassroots workers, avoid self promotion, strengthen voter list monitoring, and focus on expanding Congress across the state.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy issued a strong message to Congress leaders and elected representatives during the Congress Political Affairs Committee meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan. He cautioned MLAs against behaving like feudal landlords and stressed that public representatives must remain accessible to party workers and the people.
The Chief Minister expressed concern that some leaders have forgotten the dedicated workers who stood by the party during difficult times. He noted that grassroots activists and social media volunteers played a crucial role in bringing Congress to power, but many of them now feel neglected. Revanth Reddy said every leader must work actively for the party instead of focusing only on personal influence.
To strengthen the party organization, he announced that he would personally meet grassroots workers regularly and dedicate three days every month to interact with them. He also directed ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, corporation chairpersons, and senior leaders to spend at least one day every week in their constituencies engaging directly with party workers.
Revanth Reddy also criticized the growing trend of self promotion on social media. He said some MLAs are using online platforms mainly to highlight themselves rather than publicizing government welfare schemes and party activities. To address this issue, the party plans to organize special training sessions for legislators on effective social media communication.
The Chief Minister urged leaders to identify and involve party members who had contributed significantly to digital membership campaigns and organizational activities in the past. He emphasized that experienced workers should once again be given important responsibilities in strengthening the Congress network.
A major part of the discussion focused on the ongoing special revision of voter lists. Revanth Reddy instructed party leaders to remain alert and ensure that eligible voters are not removed unfairly. He warned that poor families, migrant workers, women, minorities, Dalits, tribal communities, and other vulnerable groups could be affected if proper monitoring is not carried out.
He called for close coordination among party leaders at every level and proposed appointing dedicated in charges for Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies to oversee the voter verification process. According to him, not a single genuine vote should be removed due to negligence or procedural errors.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of expanding Congress in Hyderabad. He directed party leaders to hold constituency level review meetings and assign greater responsibilities to Rajya Sabha members and MLCs in urban areas. He said all wings of the party, including the Women Congress, should actively participate in outreach programs.
Concluding the meeting, Revanth Reddy asked leaders to work collectively, counter opposition strategies, and build a stronger Congress organization ahead of future elections. He stressed that continuous engagement with workers and voters would be the key to the party’s long term success.
