Rapido Food Delivery: Rapido Expands Ownly Food Delivery Service to Hyderabad
Rapido has expanded its Ownly food delivery service to Hyderabad, bringing a zero commission model for restaurants as it takes on established food delivery platforms.
Rapido Food Delivery: Rapido has brought its Ownly food delivery platform to Hyderabad, expanding the service beyond Bengaluru as it looks to build a presence in India’s competitive online food ordering market.
Customers in Hyderabad can access Ownly through the Rapido app, while the service is also available through separate Android and iOS applications. The company is positioning the platform as an alternative to existing food delivery services.
One of the main features of Ownly is its zero commission approach for restaurants. Instead of taking a percentage from every order, the platform charges participating restaurants a subscription fee.
According to information shared by Ownly, the platform has already partnered with around 22,000 restaurants and has delivered more than 4.2 million orders so far.
The company also says customers will not face additional packaging fees, platform charges or surge fees on its platform. Users are expected to pay the menu price along with the applicable delivery charge.
For restaurants, the model means the full value of the food sold remains with them without a commission being deducted from each order. The subscription based system is intended to offer a different cost structure compared with the commission model commonly used by food delivery platforms.
Ownly gained traction in Bengaluru before the Hyderabad launch. Rapido cofounder Aravind said the company expects the service to receive a similar response from customers in Hyderabad.
Rapido will use its existing Captain network to handle food deliveries. The company’s entry into Hyderabad adds another player to the city’s food delivery market, giving restaurants and customers another platform to consider.
