Kanipakam Brahmotsavam 2026 Begins with Grand Devotional Celebrations

The annual Brahmotsavam at the Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple in Kanipakam, Chittoor district, began today. The celebrations will continue until October 4, bringing several days of religious programmes and special services to the temple.

The first day started with traditional worship and special arrangements for Lord Varasiddhi Vinayaka. Vedic priests will perform special abhishekam and offer silk clothes to the deity. The rituals will take place amid Vedic chanting and other customary ceremonies.

Devotees will also receive Theertha Prasadam and Akshatalu during the celebrations. Swamy Vratakalpam is another important programme planned as part of the opening day activities.

The first night will be marked by the Mooshika Vahana Seva. Lord Varasiddhi Vinayaka will be taken in a ceremonial procession on the Mooshika Vahana. This is expected to attract a large gathering of devotees who come to Kanipakam for the annual festival.

The Brahmotsavam programme has been planned over several weeks. The first nine days will feature Navaratri Brahmotsavam, with rituals conducted for the main deity and the festival idols. The temple will follow its traditional schedule during these celebrations.

Another 13 days have been set aside for special festivities and devotional programmes. Temple officials have made arrangements to conduct these events smoothly and provide devotees with a comfortable experience.

Kanipakam sees a significant increase in visitors during its annual Brahmotsavam. Devotees from different parts of Andhra Pradesh are expected to arrive, while pilgrims from neighbouring states are also likely to visit the temple during the major events.

The temple committee and officials have completed preparations to manage the expected crowd. Attention has been given to arrangements inside the temple premises so that devotees can take part in the rituals without unnecessary difficulties.

Vahana services will remain one of the major highlights throughout the celebrations. Devotees traditionally wait for these processions, during which the deity is taken around in different ceremonial forms.

The Brahmotsavam also gives pilgrims an opportunity to spend time at the temple beyond regular darshan. With rituals taking place through the day and special services scheduled in the evenings, Kanipakam is expected to remain busy throughout the festival.

The celebrations have now officially begun, and more religious programmes are scheduled in the coming days. The annual Brahmotsavam will continue until October 4, with devotees expected to participate in the festivities and seek the blessings of Lord Varasiddhi Vinayaka.
