RTC Metro Pass: Telangana Plans Common Pass for RTC and Hyderabad Metro
Telangana is working on a common travel pass for RTC and Hyderabad Metro passengers, with daily and monthly options planned to make public transport easier and more convenient.

RTC Metro Pass: Telangana is moving ahead with plans to introduce a common travel pass covering Telangana RTC and Hyderabad Metro services, which could make daily commuting simpler for passengers.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials from both transport systems to work out the details and introduce the combined pass at the earliest. Daily as well as monthly passes are being considered under the proposed system.
Officials told the Chief Secretary that the technical arrangements needed to issue the common pass are already in place. Jaju asked them to finalise the combined fare quickly and put the new system into operation without unnecessary delay.
The plan is expected to be particularly useful for passengers who depend on both buses and the Metro during their regular commute. Instead of managing separate passes, travellers could eventually use a single pass for both services.
Earlier on Sunday, Jaju also took a Metro ride to review the services firsthand. He travelled from Begumpet to Paradise as an ordinary passenger and observed the conditions during the journey.
During the inspection, the Chief Secretary looked at passenger facilities at the stations and spoke to officials about maintenance. He also checked passenger crowds and the way Metro services were being operated.
Jaju said the purpose of the visit was to understand the experience of passengers directly and identify areas that may need improvement. He stressed the need to keep public transport services safe, reliable and convenient for commuters.
The Chief Secretary also asked Metro officials to continue improving service quality and pay attention to the needs of passengers. Issues noticed during the inspection were discussed with the officials accompanying him.
Metro Managing Director Sarfaraz Ahmed and Additional Managing Director Ajit Reddy were also present during the inspection.
With the common pass proposal now moving forward, authorities are expected to focus on finalising the fare structure and completing the remaining arrangements before announcing the rollout details.
