Revanth Reddy Kodangal Visit: Revanth Reddy Orders Faster Work on Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project

Revanth Reddy Kodangal Visit: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to speed up work on the Narayanpet Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project, which is being taken up to provide drinking and irrigation water to the Kodangal constituency.

During his two day visit to Kodangal, the Chief Minister reviewed several ongoing projects across Narayanpet and Vikarabad districts. He inspected the construction of a government degree college and a Social Welfare residential girls school in Maddur, a BC residential and junior college project in Daultabad and the Education Hub at Hakimpet.

A detailed review meeting was later held at the Hakimpet Education Hub, where state and district officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of various development works.

Revanth Reddy said around Rs 1,053 crore had already been spent on three phases of the Narayanpet Kodangal lift irrigation works. He instructed officials to invite tenders for Phase 2 without further delay and prepare a detailed report on the annual budget required to complete the project on schedule.

Officials informed him that Phase 1 is targeted for completion by December 2027, while Phase 2 is expected to be completed by October 2028.

The Chief Minister also reviewed plans for an integrated industrial project proposed across 4,000 acres in the Kodangal constituency. He directed officials to complete the land acquisition process quickly and organise an industrial and agriculture exhibition in October to attract companies and investment to the region.

Road connectivity was another major focus of the review. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to ensure that every thanda in the constituency has proper road access. He also directed Roads and Buildings officials to coordinate with the collectors of Rangareddy, Vikarabad and Narayanpet districts and complete land acquisition for the proposed 81 kilometre radial road.

The Chief Minister said work on the radial road should begin on November 1 and be completed within 18 months.

At Maddur, Revanth Reddy first inspected the construction of the government degree college. He asked Collector Priyanka to examine the possibility of purchasing additional land for the campus. Officials informed him that a three storey building was being constructed and suggested adding another floor to address the requirement for more classrooms and other facilities. The Chief Minister responded positively to the proposal.

He later visited the site of the Social Welfare residential girls school. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to make the facility available by the next academic year.

The land on which the school is being constructed has a personal connection to the Chief Minister. Around 15 years ago, he had purchased four acres in Maddur with his own money and handed it over to the government for public use.

During the visit, he also asked officials to identify and support farmers who had given their land for development projects in the area. He directed them to sanction Indiramma houses for eligible families. The Chief Minister interacted with local residents and received petitions from them.

At Daultabad, Revanth Reddy inspected the construction of the junior college building and questioned officials over the delay in completing the work. He made it clear that projects should not be held up unnecessarily.

His next stop was the Education Hub at Hakimpet in Duddiyal mandal. The project, involving educational institutions with an estimated investment of around Rs 1,000 crore, was reviewed in detail.

Revanth Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the works, pointing out that nearly 45 days had passed since his previous visit to the Education Hub. He asked officials to speed up construction and ensure that the project stays on schedule.

He also suggested making arrangements to collect rainwater during the monsoon and use it for landscaping instead of allowing it to go to waste. The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the proposed hospital and medical college buildings as well.

Chief Secretary Sridhar, Tandur MLA Manohar Reddy, Pargi MLA Ram Mohan Reddy, Finance Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Vikarabad Collector Deepak Tiwari, Narayanpet Collector Priyanka and other senior officials took part in the review.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy is scheduled to visit Nalgonda district on Saturday. At 4 pm, he will inaugurate a new 100 bed government hospital building in Nakrekal. He will later unveil foundation stones for various development works at the mini stadium and address a public meeting.
