Krishna Janmashtami celebrations brought devotees to temples across Telangana, with colourful decorations, special rituals, bhajans and traditional festivities marking the occasion with great enthusiasm.

Krishna Janmashtami in Telangana: Krishna Janmashtami celebrations were held with enthusiasm across Telangana on Friday, with temples seeing a steady flow of devotees from the early hours. Several shrines were decorated with flowers and special arrangements were made for visitors on the occasion.

The ISKCON temple at Abids in Hyderabad was among the major centres attracting crowds. Devotees from different parts of the city arrived for darshan, with long queues forming outside the temple.

Special pujas and abhishekams were performed at the temple during the day. The atmosphere remained lively with bhajans and devotional songs being sung by devotees. Separate queue arrangements were also made to manage the rush.

Janmashtami celebrations were not limited to Hyderabad. Traditional programmes were organised at temples in other parts of the state, where devotees marked the birth of Lord Krishna with prayers and festivities.

At the Komuravelli Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Siddipet district, the celebrations followed the local Yadava tradition. Yadava priests took part in the special programme organised at the temple and offered silk clothes to the deity as part of the customary celebrations.

The traditional Uriyadi event was another highlight at the temple. Priests dressed as Lord Krishna and Gollabhama took part in the ceremony and broke the hanging pot as devotees gathered to watch the celebrations.

The temple’s festival idols were also taken around the streets in a procession, adding to the festive atmosphere in Komuravelli. Temple executive officer Katta Sudhakar Reddy, priests and staff took part in the celebrations.

Across Telangana, the festival brought together families and devotees at Krishna temples, with prayers, devotional music and traditional activities continuing through the day. The large turnout at several temples reflected the enthusiasm surrounding Janmashtami celebrations across the state.
