Tension has been building in Nalgonda following clashes between BJP and Congress workers on Monday. The confrontations reportedly involved supporters of both parties, prompting the police to step up security measures.
The latest dispute followed an incident in which BJP workers allegedly threw eggs at the office of Telangana minister Komatireddy. In a separate incident, Congress workers reportedly attacked the residence of BJP Nalgonda district president Varshit Reddy.
Against this backdrop, Ramachander Rao had planned to travel to Nalgonda to meet the party leader and assess the situation. Police, however, stopped him from leaving his residence and placed him under house arrest.
The development has added to the political tension between the BJP and Congress in the district. BJP leaders have questioned the police action, while authorities are focused on preventing further confrontations between supporters of the two parties.
