Low Pressure Area Brings Heavy Rain Alert Across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
A developing low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal is expected to strengthen, bringing thunderstorms, heavy showers and strong winds across Telugu states.

Heavy rain is expected in parts of Andhra Pradesh.Northern and eastern Telangana may receive intense showers. Coastal areas could see strong winds and thunderstorms.
The weather pattern across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is likely to remain unsettled as a low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal regions of West Bengal and north Odisha continues to influence the region.
The weather system is expected to become more organised over the next 24 hours and may move towards north Odisha and West Bengal. The India Meteorological Department has warned that the system could trigger widespread rainfall across several parts of the Telugu states.
In Andhra Pradesh, the coastal belt is likely to see the most noticeable impact. Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Kakinada, Konaseema and the Godavari districts are among the areas that could receive heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Rain is not expected to be limited to these districts. Several other parts of the state may also experience light to moderate showers during the period. The weather could change quickly in some places, with thunderstorms and gusty winds accompanying the rain.
Along the Andhra Pradesh coast, winds may reach speeds of around 45 to 55 kilometres per hour. Fishermen have been advised to stay away from the northern Bay of Bengal and the coastal waters of Odisha and West Bengal as the weather system develops.
Telangana is also expected to experience rainfall, particularly across its northern and eastern districts. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has indicated the possibility of moderate to heavy showers during the next 24 hours.
Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Mancherial are among the districts under a heavy rain alert.
Other parts of Telangana may also receive showers, with gusty winds possible in some areas. Residents in vulnerable locations are likely to see sudden changes in weather, especially during thunderstorms.
The developing system has also prompted a wider weather warning for coastal areas. With the low pressure area expected to strengthen and move inland, weather conditions could remain unsettled across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the coming hours.
