Uber Expands Hyderabad Operations With First Global Center Outside America
Uber plans major expansion in Hyderabad with its first Center of Excellence outside the United States while exploring investments in Future City and advanced urban mobility solutions.

Hyderabad continues to strengthen its position as a global business destination with international companies showing growing interest in expanding their presence in the city. In the latest development, ride hailing giant Uber announced plans to significantly expand its operations in Telangana.
Uber Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jubilee Hills along with senior company executives. The meeting focused on expanding Uber’s long term presence in Hyderabad and exploring new investment opportunities in the state.
Senior leaders including Chief Business Officer Madhu Kannan and India and South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh participated in the discussions. Telangana government representatives also attended the meeting.
During the interaction, Uber executives informed the Chief Minister that the company intends to strengthen its existing Center of Excellence in Hyderabad. They stated that the facility would become Uber’s first such center established outside the United States.
Officials revealed that around six hundred engineers are currently working at the Hyderabad Center of Excellence and further expansion plans are already under consideration. Uber representatives also expressed interest in setting up a corporate office in the upcoming Bharat Future City project being developed by the Telangana government.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy encouraged Uber to actively participate in the Future City initiative, which is being planned across nearly thirty thousand acres with a focus on attracting major global companies and technology investments.
The Chief Minister also discussed urban infrastructure challenges faced by rapidly growing metro cities, especially parking management. He suggested that Uber could explore opportunities in developing modern multi level parking facilities and advanced parking solutions in Hyderabad.
According to officials, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for smart urban planning as traffic and vehicle density continue to rise in major cities. He also recommended establishing electric vehicle charging stations alongside parking centers to support future mobility systems.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi reportedly responded positively to the proposal and assured the government that the company would study the possibilities in detail.
Revanth Reddy assured the company that the Telangana government would provide full support for Uber’s expansion plans and future investments in the state. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to transform Hyderabad into a globally competitive technology and innovation hub.
The meeting is being viewed as another major step in Hyderabad’s emergence as a preferred destination for international technology companies looking to expand operations in India.
