Telangana Plans High Speed Internet for Every Household Across Villages
Telangana government aims to provide high speed internet connectivity to every household while restoring digital access in 3089 villages during the first phase of the T Fiber expansion project.

The Telangana government has taken a major step towards providing high speed internet access to every household across the state. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy discussed the expansion of the T Fiber project with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia through a video conference focused on strengthening digital infrastructure in rural Telangana.
As part of the first phase, digital connectivity will be restored in 3089 villages located in the erstwhile districts of Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Khammam where network infrastructure was previously damaged. The state government believes this initiative will help bridge the digital gap between urban and rural areas.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the need for strong and uninterrupted broadband services in every village and every home. They also discussed integrating the Telangana T Fiber project with the Central Government’s Amended BharatNet Programme to speed up connectivity expansion across the state.
The discussions also focused on signing agreements related to the BharatNet programme at the earliest and ensuring quick release of pending funds. The Chief Minister requested a clear policy for transferring ring network assets from mandals to gram panchayats under the Digital Bharat initiative. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia reportedly responded positively and assured full support to Telangana.
Officials explained that the state plans to develop a ring architecture network system connecting every gram panchayat through the T Fiber network. This model will ensure uninterrupted internet services even if one route faces network disruption, as alternate paths will continue to provide connectivity.
The government also proposed creating a Special Purpose Vehicle under the BharatNet programme to coordinate with the Centre and build a future ready broadband network suited to rural requirements. Authorities stated that the upgraded infrastructure would help Telangana provide digital services equal to other advanced regions with reliable high speed internet access.
The Telangana government said the project is not just about internet access but also about improving education, governance, healthcare and employment opportunities in remote villages through stable digital connectivity.
