Telangana New Chief Secretary: Sanjay Jaju Appointed as New Telangana Chief Secretary

Senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju will assume charge as Telangana Chief Secretary from July 1 following government orders after completing his tenure with the Union government recently.

Telangana New Chief Secretary: The Telangana government has appointed senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju as the next Chief Secretary of the state. Official orders confirming his appointment were issued on Friday, and he is scheduled to assume office from July 1.

A 1992 batch IAS officer, Sanjay Jaju most recently served as Secretary in the Union Ministry responsible for the Development of the North Eastern Region. Following a request from the Telangana government, the Department of Personnel and Training transferred him back to his parent cadre. He was formally relieved from his Central government responsibilities three days ago.

The appointment comes as the tenure of the current Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao is set to conclude on June 30. With the change in leadership, the state government has entrusted Sanjay Jaju with the responsibility of leading the administrative machinery.

His return to the Telangana cadre and appointment to the state’s highest bureaucratic position is expected to ensure a smooth administrative transition. The government has completed all formalities ahead of his taking charge at the beginning of the new month.
