Telangana Heavy Rain Alert: Heavy Rainfall to Lash Telangana as Hyderabad Braces for Intense Showers

Telangana Heavy Rain Alert: After several days of persistent heat and uncomfortable humidity, Telangana is finally set to receive widespread rainfall as the southwest monsoon becomes more active across the state. The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain over the next seven days, bringing much needed relief from soaring temperatures.

Hyderabad is expected to experience light to moderate showers during the afternoon, with rainfall becoming more intense after 6 pm. Officials have warned that several parts of the city could witness heavy downpours during the night, raising the possibility of waterlogging in low lying areas and traffic disruptions.

An Orange Alert has been issued for Telangana until July 2 as weather conditions are expected to remain favorable for widespread rainfall. Residents have been advised to stay cautious, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, and plan their journeys in advance.

According to the latest forecast, northern, central, and eastern Telangana are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, while a few places may record very heavy showers. Southern districts are expected to receive light to moderate rain during the same period.

The weather department has also issued a Yellow Alert for the combined Khammam and Warangal regions, where heavy rainfall is expected today. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely in Hanumakonda, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Mulugu, Nalgonda, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mancherial, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Warangal, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts.

Strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour are also expected in several areas. Authorities have urged people to remain alert during thunderstorms and avoid taking shelter under trees or near unstable structures.

Cloudy skies have already covered most parts of Telangana, and cooler weather has brought relief to residents who were struggling with hot and humid conditions over the past few days. Civic officials have warned that waterlogging and slow moving traffic may occur in vulnerable areas as rainfall intensity increases.

The southwest monsoon entered Telangana several days ago but remained weak because of delayed advancement. With monsoon activity now strengthening, weather experts expect rainfall to become more consistent across the state in the coming week.
