Revanth Reddy Reviews Agriculture Plans: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to ensure the availability of seven fine rice varieties that qualify for bonus incentives, aiming to encourage cultivation and improve farmer participation. He also directed that these varieties be supplied to farmers with subsidy support.

During a review meeting of the Agriculture Department held in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate data on paddy production and crop patterns across the state. He asked officials to collect detailed information on farmers cultivating fine rice varieties and ensure quality seeds are readily available through Rythu Vedikas.

Highlighting the role of innovation in agriculture, Revanth Reddy called for greater adoption of technology and artificial intelligence within the department. He suggested that the Agriculture University should function as a nodal agency to support technology driven solutions and improve coordination among various agricultural institutions.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need for close cooperation between the Agriculture Department, Civil Supplies Department, and Agriculture University from seed distribution to procurement. He said such coordination would help streamline operations and improve services for farmers.

Reviewing fertilizer availability, Revanth Reddy directed officials to establish a dedicated mobile application covering agricultural inputs and fertilizer distribution. He proposed that farmers should be able to book urea through the app, with distribution taking place through Rythu Vedikas under the supervision of district authorities.

He further instructed officials to regularly communicate with the Central Government regarding fertilizer allocations and ensure adequate supplies for the state. The Chief Minister also suggested making stronger efforts to secure a larger share of fertilizers produced at the Ramagundam fertilizer plant for Telangana farmers.

Revanth Reddy encouraged officials to expand the pilot project launched in Dummugudem region and explore its benefits on a wider scale. He also called for measures to reduce losses in cooperative agricultural institutions and strengthen organizations working in the farm sector.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers, senior officials, and representatives from key government departments who reviewed strategies aimed at improving agricultural productivity and farmer welfare across Telangana.
