Revanth Reddy Orders First Day Salary Payments for Government Staff

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed timely salary payments for government employees and announced changes in pension distribution and village panchayat financial management across Telangana.

The Telangana government has decided to ensure that salaries for employees across departments are credited on the first day of every month. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said there should be no delay in salary payments and directed officials to strictly implement the decision.

During a review meeting on Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, the Chief Minister stated that the policy would apply to all categories of workers including permanent employees, contract staff and outsourced personnel. Around fifty thousand village panchayat staff members are expected to benefit from the move.

He also announced that financial support for pension beneficiaries should directly reach individual bank accounts. The current process involving postal delivery of pension funds will be replaced to improve transparency and simplify payments.

The Chief Minister further instructed officials to streamline pension records using Aadhaar details, voter identity data and social and economic survey information. He said priority in the approval of new pensions should be given to single women.

Revanth Reddy also directed that village panchayat own source revenues should be deposited into bank accounts instead of treasury accounts. He added that the government would allocate special monthly funds to ensure salaries are paid without interruption and village administration functions smoothly.
