Rangareddy Six Murders Accused Rajkumar Found Dead in Kothur as Police Continue Investigation
Rajkumar, accused of killing six people in Rangareddy district, was found dead in Kothur with a poison bottle nearby as police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
The man accused of carrying out a brutal six member family murder in Telangana’s Rangareddy district has been found dead in Kothur, bringing a dramatic development to one of the state’s most disturbing criminal cases. Police recovered the body of P Rajkumar in Penjerla village on Monday while continuing their search for him.
Officials said a bottle suspected to contain poison was discovered beside the body. However, investigators have not yet confirmed whether Rajkumar died by suicide or due to any other reason. A postmortem examination and forensic investigation are expected to determine the exact cause of death.
Rajkumar, a resident of Daivalaguda village in Shabad mandal, had been absconding since the multiple murders that shocked the district. Police had launched an extensive manhunt after he allegedly killed six people, including his wife Saritha, their two young sons, a 17 year old girl, her mother, and her grandmother.
According to investigators, the murders were committed within a short period during the night of July 10. The weapon believed to have been used in the attacks was recovered from one of the crime scenes during the investigation.

Police said Rajkumar allegedly contacted his father after the incident and admitted to committing the murders. His father later informed the Shabad Police, which helped investigators begin their search for the accused.
The investigation also revealed that Rajkumar had previously been arrested in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act for allegedly stalking and harassing the teenage girl who later became one of the victims. He had subsequently secured bail.
The victim’s family had earlier complained that Rajkumar repeatedly harassed the girl, followed her, pressured her to speak with him, and allegedly threatened her when she refused. They also accused him of monitoring their movements and creating fear within the family, leading them to approach the police.
Police are examining all aspects of the case, including the motive behind the murders and the circumstances that led to Rajkumar’s death. Officials said the investigation remains active and further details will be released after forensic and postmortem reports are received.
