Rangareddy Court Sentences Accused to 20 Years in POCSO Case
Rangareddy District Court sentenced a man to 20 years in prison after finding him guilty under the POCSO Act and also ordered financial compensation for the victim.

The Rangareddy District Court delivered a strong judgment in a serious POCSO case and sentenced a father to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of repeatedly assaulting his minor daughter. The court also directed that the victim receive financial compensation of Rs 7 lakh for the trauma and suffering caused by the crime.
The case was registered under the jurisdiction of Shabad Police Station after disturbing details came to light. Police officials treated the matter with urgency and conducted a detailed investigation. The accused, a 37 year old daily wage worker from Shabad mandal in Rangareddy district, was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
During the investigation, police collected multiple forms of evidence including the victim’s statement, documentary material and scientific forensic proof. Officials later submitted a detailed charge sheet before the court to strengthen the prosecution’s case.
After carefully examining witness testimonies and the evidence presented, the court ruled that the offence was severe and unacceptable. The judge held the accused guilty and announced a 20 year prison sentence along with compensation support for the victim.
Police officials and members of the prosecution team who worked on the case have received appreciation from senior authorities and local residents for ensuring that the investigation moved quickly and justice was delivered within a shorter period.
