Posters Surface in Hyderabad as Bhagirath Skips Police Inquiry
Fresh controversy erupted in Hyderabad after posters targeting Bhagirath appeared across key locations while the accused remained absent from police questioning in the POCSO case investigation

The controversy surrounding Bhagirath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has intensified after he failed to appear before police for questioning in connection with a POCSO case registered against him.
Police had issued notices directing Bhagirath to attend an inquiry at Pet Basheerabad Police Station on Wednesday afternoon. However, officials confirmed that he did not appear for questioning, prompting investigators to consider further legal action in the case.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons pasted posters across several parts of Hyderabad, creating a major political and public stir. The posters appeared near the Gachibowli flyover, Nallagandla flyover and municipal zonal offices within the Serilingampally constituency. Large text on the posters described Bhagirath as absconding in a case related to the alleged harassment of a minor girl.
Women’s organisations also staged protests outside the Pet Basheerabad Police Station demanding immediate action against the accused. Some activists reportedly displayed similar posters inside Metro trains and called for Bhagirath to be taken into custody without delay.
The case was registered last Friday following a complaint accusing Bhagirath of harassing a 17 year old minor girl. Based on the victim’s statement, police added stringent sections under the POCSO Act during the investigation.
The developments have now turned the case into a widely discussed issue across Hyderabad, with growing demands for a transparent and speedy investigation.
