Nizamabad Infant Murder: A disturbing case of child murder has come to light in Nizamabad, where a father allegedly killed his two month old son after suspecting that the child was not biologically his. Police have taken the accused into custody after he reportedly confessed to the crime during questioning.
According to investigators, the accused, Yuvaraj, a resident of Naigaon in Maharashtra, married Priyanka from the Mirchi Compound area of Nizamabad last year. After marriage, Priyanka returned to her parents’ home for delivery and gave birth to a baby boy two months ago. The child was named Prem.
Police said Yuvaraj had been frequently arguing with his wife since the birth of the child, claiming that the baby was not his. The disagreements reportedly intensified over time, creating tension within the family.
On June 17, following another dispute with his wife, the accused allegedly took the infant away from home. Investigators stated that he later attacked the baby with a knife near a railway track and abandoned the body in nearby bushes before leaving for Maharashtra.
When the child could not be found, Priyanka approached the One Town Police Station and lodged a complaint. Based on her report, police initially registered a kidnapping case and launched a search operation.
The breakthrough came when the accused returned to Nizamabad on Friday. During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to killing the child. Following his confession, police recovered details related to the crime and initiated further legal proceedings.
Officials described the incident as a deeply tragic case and said the investigation is continuing to gather all relevant evidence.
