New Liquor Brands Set to Enter Telangana Market

Telangana is likely to see a wider liquor market soon, with 18 distilleries seeking approval for 121 new brands across several categories.

Several new liquor brands could soon appear across Telangana after 18 distillery companies submitted applications to the Excise Department seeking permission to introduce their products in the state.

The applications cover 121 proposed labels across whisky, wine, vodka, brandy, gin and tequila, along with different varieties of beer. The move is expected to expand the choices available in the state liquor market if the applications receive regulatory clearance.

The Excise Department has published the list of proposed brands on its official website and invited objections from the public and other interested parties. September 1 has been set as the deadline for submitting any complaints or objections regarding the proposed labels.

Among the beer names included in the applications are Cheetah, Tiger, Red Horse, Abest, Flensburger, Bhutanis and Cacaos. Several premium whisky products, along with vodka and wine brands, are also part of the applications submitted for registration.

The next step will depend on the objections received during the review period. If no valid complaints are raised before the deadline, the Excise Department is expected to consider granting approval for the brands.

Once the required permissions are completed, the new products could gradually reach liquor shops, pubs and bars across Telangana in the weeks following September 1.

The proposed additions are likely to attract attention among retailers and consumers, particularly because the applications include a mix of international sounding beer labels and products positioned in premium liquor categories.
