Jagtial Family Tragedy: A tragic family incident has shocked residents of Nookapalli village in Telangana’s Jagtial district after a man allegedly killed his wife during a domestic dispute before taking his own life. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

According to preliminary information, Nagaraju, 49, and his wife Lakshmi, 45, had been living in Nookapalli village under Malyala mandal. The couple, who had no children, adopted a young boy about three years ago and were earning a living through farming and daily wage work.

Police said the couple reportedly argued on Sunday night after Nagaraju consumed alcohol. During the altercation, he allegedly assaulted his wife and attempted to consume pesticide. Family members stated that Lakshmi and their adopted son tried to stop him, and some of the pesticide reportedly spilled onto their hands during the struggle.

Investigators believe that later in the night, Nagaraju allegedly strangled Lakshmi while she was sleeping. Following her death, he is believed to have died by suicide by hanging inside the house.

The tragedy came to light early the next morning when the adopted boy woke up and found both his parents unresponsive. Frightened by the scene, he ran to a nearby relative’s house and informed them. The relatives immediately alerted the police.

Family members told investigators that Nagaraju frequently argued with his wife after consuming alcohol and suspect the crime may have occurred in a moment of rage. Based on a complaint filed by Lakshmi’s mother, Gangavva, police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation to determine the exact sequence of events.

The incident has left the village in shock, with local residents expressing grief over the devastating loss suffered by the family and concern for the future of the young adopted child.
