Hyderabad Police Take Custody of Bandi Bhagirath in POCSO Investigation

Following the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by the Telangana High Court, Bandi Bhagirath appeared before Hyderabad police as officials stepped up the ongoing POCSO investigation.

Bandi Bhagirath, son of BJP leader Bandi Sanjay, presented himself before Hyderabad police on Saturday in connection with a POCSO case involving allegations linked to a minor girl. Sources said he reached the police officials along with his advocates and close family members.

The surrender came hours after the Telangana High Court declined to provide anticipatory bail in the matter. With no interim legal relief available, the situation reportedly became more difficult for Bhagirath as investigators continued their action.

Police officials handling the case have increased the pace of the inquiry and are closely monitoring every development. As part of precautionary measures, authorities also issued a lookout circular to stop any possible attempt to leave the country.

According to sources familiar with the case, Bhagirath chose to cooperate with the investigation after discussions with his legal team, especially as the police tightened procedures connected to the probe.
