Hyderabad Boy Battles for Life After Pack of Stray Dogs Attacks Him
A summer vacation visit turned tragic for a young boy in Hyderabad after he suffered critical injuries in a sudden stray dog attack inside a residential colony in BN Reddy Nagar.

A serious stray dog attack in Hyderabad has left a young boy fighting for his life, raising fresh concerns over public safety in residential neighbourhoods across the city.
The incident took place at Teachers Colony in the BN Reddy Nagar area, where a child named Advik had come from Siddipet district to spend time with relatives during the summer holidays. What began as a normal evening quickly turned into a horrifying experience for the family.
According to residents, the boy was playing alone in the cellar section of the building when a group of stray dogs suddenly entered the area. Before nearby people could react, the dogs reportedly surrounded the child and attacked him repeatedly.
Hearing loud cries for help, local residents rushed towards the spot and somehow managed to drive the dogs away. However, the child had already suffered deep injuries by then. Witnesses said the attack caused severe wounds to his head and other parts of the body, leading to heavy blood loss.
Family members immediately took the boy to Kamineni Hospital, where doctors admitted him to the intensive care unit. Hospital sources said the child remains under close observation due to the seriousness of the injuries.
The incident triggered anger among people living in the colony, many of whom claimed that complaints regarding stray dogs had been raised several times earlier. Residents alleged that despite repeated requests, no effective measures were taken to control the increasing number of aggressive dogs roaming in the locality.
Parents in the area said children are now afraid to step outside their homes, especially during evening hours. Many residents blamed civic authorities for failing to respond quickly to public complaints regarding stray animal attacks.
The shocking incident has once again brought attention to Hyderabad’s growing stray dog issue, with residents demanding urgent action to prevent similar attacks in crowded residential colonies and public spaces.
