Harish Rao Requests Withdrawal of Cases Against Professor Nageshwar

Harish Rao urged the Andhra Pradesh government to withdraw cases against Professor Nageshwar, saying legal action should not continue after he publicly withdrew his controversial remarks.

The political controversy surrounding Professor K Nageshwar continues to attract attention after BRS senior leader and former Telangana minister Harish Rao called on the Andhra Pradesh government to withdraw all cases registered against him.

The issue gained momentum after Professor Nageshwar made remarks regarding Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and alleged discussions involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The comments quickly triggered reactions from political circles across the Telugu states.

Jana Sena supporters strongly objected to the remarks and accused Professor Nageshwar of making misleading claims. Social media platforms witnessed intense criticism, while complaints were also lodged against him at several police stations in Andhra Pradesh, resulting in legal cases being filed.

As criticism and pressure increased, Professor Nageshwar later issued an unconditional statement withdrawing his comments. However, the continuation of legal proceedings even after the retraction has generated fresh debate and different opinions.

Responding to the issue through a post on X, Harish Rao questioned the need to continue legal action after the political analyst had already taken back his statements. He said pursuing cases in such a manner was not appropriate and stressed the importance of respecting freedom of expression.

Harish Rao also urged the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately withdraw all cases filed against Professor Nageshwar. Political observers are now closely watching whether the AP government and Jana Sena leaders will respond to his remarks.
