Harish Rao Arrested: Harish Rao Arrested During Employees Protest in Hanamkonda

Harish Rao Arrested: Tension prevailed at the Hanamkonda district collectorate after police detained former Telangana minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao during a protest organised by Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers (TNGOs).

Following his detention, Harish Rao reportedly refused to board the police vehicle. Instead, he walked from the collectorate to a nearby police station. The development quickly drew supporters to the scene, with BRS workers staging a sit-in outside the Subedari police station and demanding his immediate release.

The protest also saw slogans raised against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, adding to the tension in the area.

Before his arrest, Harish Rao strongly criticised the state government over employees’ concerns. He demanded better Pay Revision Commission benefits and called for the immediate clearance of pending dues.

The BRS leader also alleged that government employees were facing difficulties in receiving retirement benefits and made serious accusations against the administration. He claimed that employees and their associations were being pressured whenever they raised their concerns.

Harish Rao further alleged that vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau cases were being used to intimidate employee union leaders who spoke publicly about their demands. He accused the Congress government of ignoring the concerns of employees, farmers, students and unemployed youth.

He said the BRS would raise employees’ issues during the upcoming Assembly sessions and continue to question the government on their behalf. Harish Rao also warned that the government’s alleged confrontation with employees could have political consequences.

The arrest led to a strong reaction from BRS supporters, who continued their protest outside the police station and called for Harish Rao’s release.
