Father Arrested After 18 Day Old Baby Dies in Sangareddy Incident
An 18 day old infant died after allegedly being assaulted by the child's father during a domestic dispute in Sangareddy, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident.
A shocking incident has been reported from Jogipet in Sangareddy district, where an 18 day old baby lost her life following an alleged assault by her own father during a family dispute.
According to police, the accused, Krishna, allegedly got into an argument with his wife Gouramma at their residence on Friday morning. The couple, who had married against their families’ wishes, had reportedly been facing frequent disagreements in recent days.
Investigators said the dispute escalated while the mother was feeding the infant. During the altercation, Krishna allegedly snatched the baby from her and assaulted the child. When Gouramma warned that she would approach the police, he allegedly threw the infant to the ground before fleeing the scene.
Hearing the mother’s cries for help, local residents rushed to the spot. The seriously injured baby was immediately shifted to the Jogipet Government Hospital, where doctors attempted treatment. However, the infant later succumbed to the injuries.
Police traced the accused soon after the incident and took him into custody. Confirming the case, Circle Inspector Anil Kumar said an investigation is underway to determine all the circumstances that led to the child’s death.
Authorities have registered a case and are continuing further legal proceedings.
