Police have started an investigation after an elderly couple was found dead at their home in Telangana’s Suryapet district on Friday. The incident was reported from the Tirumalagiri police station limits.
The deceased were identified as Vadiyala Srinivas, 55, and his wife Jyoti, 52. Residents in the neighbourhood noticed something unusual at the house and informed the police, who reached the spot and began preliminary inquiries.
According to the initial investigation, the couple had reportedly been facing ongoing health concerns along with financial difficulties for some time. Police said these issues are among the aspects being examined while determining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital in Thungathurthy for postmortem examination as part of the legal procedure. Officials have registered a case of suspicious death under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and further investigation is continuing.
Authorities said the exact circumstances will become clearer after the investigation and medical reports are completed.
