Court Calls for Police Records in Petition Filed by IPS Trainee Uday Krishna Reddy

The legal proceedings involving IPS trainee Uday Krishna Reddy took a fresh turn on Wednesday after the High Court asked investigating authorities to submit a detailed report on the case before the next hearing. The matter has now been listed for Monday.

Uday Krishna Reddy approached the court seeking cancellation of the criminal case, maintaining that the allegations against him are false and that the complaint was registered without valid grounds.

Representing the petitioner, counsel argued that since Reddy remains under training at the police academy, no additional coercive steps should be taken until the court completes its examination of the matter. After hearing both sides, the High Court chose not to issue any interim protection.

The investigation has also undergone an administrative change. Although the complaint was first registered at Attapur Police Station, senior police officials later shifted the probe to the Women Safety Wing for further inquiry.

Following the transfer, DCP Lavanya visited the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy to carry forward the investigation. During her visit, she recorded the statement of the woman IPS trainee who lodged the complaint, marking an important step in the inquiry.

With the investigation still in progress, police are compiling the documents and information requested by the High Court. The court is expected to examine those records when the case is heard again next week.
