BRS MP Urges Centre to Control Petrol and Diesel Price Rise

BRS leader Vaddiraju Ravichandra urged the Centre to ensure stable fuel prices and improve availability of petroleum products during discussions on supply and consumer concerns.

BRS Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader and Member of Parliament Vaddiraju Ravichandra called on the central government to take measures to prevent uncontrolled increases in petrol, diesel and natural gas prices. He stressed that fuel products should remain affordable and easily accessible for consumers.

The issue was raised during a Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting on Petroleum and Natural Gas held in Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Sunil Dattatraya Tatkare and gained importance due to the ongoing tensions and developments in the West Asia region.

During the discussion, Ravichandra said ensuring uninterrupted and quality services to consumers during periods of crisis remains one of the biggest responsibilities for authorities. He emphasized the need to strengthen systems that protect people from supply disruptions and price instability.

The MP also recalled earlier situations in which consumers from the Telugu states faced difficulties due to shortages of petrol, diesel and cooking gas. He said discussions with officials at the time helped in addressing those issues and restoring supply.

He further suggested that authorities should focus on minimizing wastage during fuel storage, imports, transportation and supply operations. According to him, stronger preventive measures are also needed to reduce risks and avoid accidents during handling and distribution processes.

The discussion highlighted concerns over maintaining fuel availability while ensuring that rising global challenges do not create additional burdens on consumers.
