Bhageerath Remains Untraceable as Court Defers Decision in POCSO Case
The Telangana High Court postponed its interim decision on Bhageerath’s anticipatory bail plea while police teams continued intensive search operations in multiple cities linked to the ongoing POCSO investigation.

The investigation into the POCSO case involving Bandi Sai Bhageerath entered a crucial stage on Thursday as legal proceedings and police operations moved forward simultaneously.
The Telangana High Court reserved its decision on Bhageerath’s request seeking temporary protection from arrest. During the hearing, the court sought clarification regarding conflicting birth related documents connected to the victim’s age determination.
Arguments in the case were presented before Justice T Madhavi Devi. Counsel representing Bhageerath stated that the accused was ready to assist the investigation and had no intention of avoiding cooperation with authorities. The defense requested the court to prevent immediate arrest until further hearings are completed.
Opposing the plea, lawyers appearing for the prosecution and the complainant argued that granting anticipatory bail at this stage could affect the investigation. They expressed concern that witnesses and the victim’s family could face influence if protection from arrest was provided before questioning is completed.
After hearing submissions from both sides, the court decided not to pass any immediate interim orders and postponed further hearing of the main bail petition until next week.
At the same time, Cyberabad police increased efforts to trace Bhageerath, whose location remains unknown. Dedicated teams have been deployed in Hyderabad, Delhi, and Karimnagar to gather leads and monitor possible movements linked to the accused.
As part of the probe, investigators revisited the suspected crime scene and reconstructed the sequence of events to collect additional evidence. Officials are also reportedly examining records and conducting procedures related to confirmation of the victim’s age.
The case has triggered strong reactions across Telangana, with several student bodies, political organizations, and public groups organizing protests demanding swift police action.
Demonstrations were reported near police stations and government offices, where protesters called for immediate arrest and strict legal proceedings in the case.
Meanwhile, police cautioned social media users against sharing photographs, personal details, or any information that could reveal the identity of the victim. Authorities warned that violations would attract serious action under provisions of the POCSO Act.
The developments continue to draw significant public attention as both the court process and the police investigation remain active in the sensitive case.
