Bhadrachalam Temple Revival: Bhadrachalam Temple Development Project Set to Begin with Major Restoration Plan

Bhadrachalam Temple Revival: The long awaited development of the Bhadrachalam Temple will officially begin on June 27 as the Telangana government moves forward with an ambitious restoration plan for the famous shrine known as the Southern Ayodhya. The project aims to enhance facilities while preserving the temple’s historic and spiritual identity.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the foundation for the development works will be laid as part of the government’s commitment to transform the temple into a model pilgrimage destination. The initiative follows the directions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who has instructed officials to complete the project without affecting the temple’s religious traditions or architectural heritage.

The state government has allocated Rs 351 crore for the comprehensive development of the temple complex. Every phase of construction will strictly follow Agama Shastra principles while giving priority to traditional stone structures and classical temple architecture. The objective is to protect the temple’s sacred character and ensure its cultural significance continues for generations.

During a high level review meeting held at the Secretariat with Endowments Department and temple officials, the minister directed authorities to complete the works within the scheduled timeline. He instructed officials to divide the project into multiple sections so that several works can progress simultaneously and the major components are completed before the next Sri Rama Navami celebrations.

Officials have also been asked to ensure that the renovation reflects the temple’s original grandeur without compromising its sanctity. The government intends to create infrastructure that will serve devotees for the next two centuries while preserving the historical and spiritual legacy that makes Bhadrachalam one of the country’s most revered pilgrimage centres.
