Mumbai Indians Hit by Double Injury Blow as De Kock and Raj Angad Exit IPL Season
Mumbai Indians received another setback after Quinton de Kock and Raj Angad Bawa were ruled out of the remaining IPL 2026 matches due to injuries.

Mumbai Indians have been dealt another serious setback in an already disappointing IPL 2026 campaign, with two important players officially ruled out of the remaining matches due to injuries. The franchise confirmed that wicketkeeper batter Quinton de Kock and young all rounder Raj Angad Bawa will miss the rest of the season.
The latest development comes at a difficult stage for Mumbai, which has already been eliminated from the playoff race after a string of poor results. Despite entering the tournament with a strong squad on paper, the five time champions have struggled to deliver consistent performances this season.
Quinton de Kock suffered a serious tendon injury in his left wrist. Reports suggest he had been dealing with pain even before the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After medical examinations, doctors recommended an extended recovery period and rehabilitation, ruling him out of the tournament.
His absence is expected to create a major gap in Mumbai’s batting lineup. De Kock had made a strong impact after joining the playing squad and played a memorable unbeaten innings of 112 against Punjab Kings. Losing an experienced batter at this stage adds to the team’s growing concerns.
Raj Angad Bawa also suffered an unfortunate injury while fielding during the previous match against Punjab Kings. Medical tests reportedly confirmed a ligament tear in his right thumb, ending his participation in the ongoing season.
Mumbai Indians are also dealing with other challenges, including fitness concerns around captain Hardik Pandya and the unavailability of senior player Suryakumar Yadav in recent matches. Jasprit Bumrah had to lead the side in the previous game under difficult circumstances.
With only league stage matches remaining against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians will now be aiming to finish the season on a positive note and restore some pride before the campaign comes to an end.
