India Wins Gold at World Youth Archery Event

India’s young archers delivered a strong performance in South Korea, with the Indian recurve girls team defeating the hosts to secure a well deserved gold medal.

India’s recurve girls team clinched the gold medal at the World Archery KAA Youth Invitational 2024 held in Incheon, South Korea. The tournament was conducted from August 10 to 14 and saw the young Indian archers put together an impressive campaign.

The Indian team featuring Kondapavuluri Yukthashree, Krishi Kumawat and Prajal Tholia faced South Korea in the final. In a closely fought contest, India held its nerve and secured a 5 to 3 victory over the hosts to finish on top.

Yukthashree from Andhra Pradesh played an important role in India’s title winning performance. Her achievement has brought pride to the state, with sports officials and the archery community appreciating her contribution on the international stage.

Officials including SAP chairman A Ravinaidu, Andhra Pradesh Archery Association president Nandamuri Tejaswini, chairman Cherukuri Satyanarayana and general secretary B V Ramana congratulated the Indian team on its success.

They also praised Yukthashree for her continued progress and noted that she is currently among the top eight probable archers in India’s senior category. Her parents and coaches were specially appreciated for supporting her development and helping her reach the international level.

India’s gold medal at the youth event highlights the growing strength of the country’s young archery talent and provides another encouraging sign for the sport’s future.

India’s young archers have once again shown that strong preparation and determination can produce major results on the international stage.
