Vivo X500 Pro Max Camera Details Revealed With 200MP ZEISS Telephoto

Vivo is preparing to expand its flagship smartphone lineup with the upcoming X500 series, and the company has now revealed some important details about the camera hardware planned for the top end X500 Pro Max model.

The biggest talking point is the 200MP ZEISS APO Super Telephoto camera. Vivo says the sensor will be paired with its BluePrint imaging technology, creating a camera system designed to capture distant subjects with a high level of detail.

The camera is expected to use a 1/1.4 inch sensor along with a Samsung HP0 sensor. Vivo has also confirmed hardware based 4x In Sensor Zoom technology. This could allow the phone to retain more detail when users zoom into distant subjects compared with conventional digital zoom.

400mm telephoto extender adds more reach

For photographers who regularly shoot subjects from a distance, the X500 Pro Max could have another interesting accessory. The phone is expected to work with a 400mm telephoto extender, giving users considerably more reach for long distance photography.

Such a setup could be particularly useful for capturing sports events, wildlife, stage performances and other subjects where getting physically closer is difficult.

The phone is also expected to feature a Super Capture Engine that can help capture moving subjects at zoom levels of up to 30x. The technology is aimed at improving the chances of getting usable photographs when the subject is moving quickly.

Stabilisation could be another major strength

Vivo is also putting considerable attention into stabilisation. The main camera on the X500 Pro Max is expected to support wide angle movement compensation of up to 3 degrees along with gimbal level stabilisation.

The company has mentioned a CIPA 7.0 rating for the stabilisation system. Better stabilisation can be particularly useful when shooting in low light, where slower shutter speeds can otherwise increase the possibility of blurred images.

A more stable camera can also help reduce unwanted movement while recording video, making the feature useful beyond still photography.

X500 Pro gets a different telephoto setup

The standard Pro model will not receive the same 200MP telephoto hardware. Vivo X500 Pro is expected to feature a 64MP ZEISS APO Super Telephoto camera with an 85mm default focal length.

The camera is expected to use a Sony LYTIA 610 sensor and focus on improved autofocus and subject tracking. Vivo has also highlighted advanced video capabilities, including the possibility of 4K recording at 120 frames per second for slow motion and 4K HDR video recording at 60 frames per second.

These features suggest that Vivo is positioning the X500 range as a serious camera focused flagship series rather than simply adding higher megapixel numbers.

X500 series launch expected in September

Vivo has already confirmed that the X500 series will make its debut in China in September 2026. The lineup is expected to include Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max, with ZEISS tuned camera systems across the range.

For now, Vivo has not officially announced the Indian launch date or pricing for the new models. More information is expected as the Chinese launch approaches.
