Philips S7221 Set to Launch in India With 64MP Camera and 5G
Philips is preparing to enter India with the S7221, featuring a 64MP AI camera, 120Hz display, 5G connectivity, 5700mAh battery and IP64 protection.

Philips is getting ready to introduce a new smartphone in India, marking an interesting move for a brand more commonly associated with home appliances and personal grooming products. The upcoming model has been named Philips S7221 and has already appeared in a teaser on Amazon.
While Philips has not revealed the exact launch date yet, the teaser gives a fairly clear picture of the phone and some of its key specifications. The company is positioning the S7221 around a combination of camera capabilities, a high refresh rate screen and 5G support.
The phone will feature a 6.67 inch flat display with an HD resolution. A punch hole sits in the centre of the screen for the front camera, while the flat side frame gives the handset a modern appearance. The display will support a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and everyday navigation feel more responsive.
The camera setup is one of the main talking points. Philips S7221 will carry a dual camera system on the rear, with a 64MP AI enabled primary camera. The two sensors are arranged vertically inside a rectangular camera module, while the LED flash is positioned separately in a circular ring. A 16MP front camera will handle selfies and video calls.
Philips is also offering the phone in multiple memory configurations. The 6GB RAM version is expected to come with 128GB storage, while the 8GB RAM model will offer 256GB of storage. This gives buyers a choice depending on how much space and multitasking performance they need.
The S7221 will be powered by a 5700mAh battery and is expected to support fast charging. Philips has also mentioned dual speakers and Ultra Max sound support, suggesting that audio will be another area of focus for the device.
On the connectivity side, the handset will support 5G networks. It will also carry an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes, adding some reassurance for everyday use.
The design shown in the teaser includes Philips branding on the rear, with Silver, White and Black colour options expected. With the company yet to announce pricing and a confirmed launch date, more details could emerge shortly. The S7221 could give Philips a fresh presence in India’s crowded smartphone market if its pricing matches the feature set.
