Redmi 17C 5G Arrives With 50MP Camera and 6000mAh Battery
Redmi 17C 5G brings a large 120Hz display, 50MP dual cameras, 6000mAh battery, 5G connectivity and IP64 protection at a competitive Singapore price.
Redmi has added another budget focused smartphone to its lineup with the launch of the Redmi 17C 5G in Singapore. The new handset combines a large display, 5G connectivity and a high capacity battery, while also offering protection against dust and water splashes.
The Redmi 17C 5G is priced at 279 Singapore dollars, which is roughly equivalent to Rs 19,000. It is available in Purple and Black, while the Brown variant gets a vegan leather finish. Redmi has not yet confirmed plans to release the phone in other markets.
On the front, the smartphone features a 6.9 inch LCD panel with a 1600 by 720 pixel resolution. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, making everyday scrolling and supported games feel smoother. It also includes DC dimming and TUV Rheinland certification aimed at reducing eye strain.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. There is also support for microSD expansion, allowing storage to be increased up to 1TB.
Photography is handled by a dual rear camera system. The main sensor has a 50MP resolution and an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by an auxiliary lens. Camera features include HDR, Night Mode and Portrait Mode. The phone can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8MP front camera.
One of the major highlights is the 6000mAh battery. The handset supports 33W fast charging, although Redmi supplies a 15W charger in the box. This means users who want to take advantage of the phone’s full charging capability may need a more powerful compatible charger.
Connectivity options include dual SIM support, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A side mounted fingerprint scanner handles biometric security.
The phone measures 171.56 by 79.47 by 8.05mm and weighs 211 grams. Its IP64 rating provides protection from dust and water splashes, adding some extra durability for everyday use. Overall, the Redmi 17C 5G focuses on the features that matter most in the affordable smartphone segment, particularly its large 120Hz screen, 50MP camera and sizeable battery.
