Hyderabad Tops Quality of Life: Hyderabad has added another achievement to its growing list, emerging as the top Indian metro city in a recent quality of life ranking by Numbeo.
The city recorded a score of 171.09, placing it well ahead of other major metros. Bengaluru scored 126.03, while Delhi and Mumbai recorded 87.53 and 86.56 respectively.
One of Hyderabad’s biggest advantages is its relatively manageable cost of living. Compared with cities such as Mumbai and Delhi, housing rents and everyday expenses are generally more affordable. This can leave residents with more room in their income for savings and other spending.
The city also performed well on purchasing power. The balance between local incomes and the cost of goods and services has helped Hyderabad maintain a strong position in the ranking.
Housing is another factor working in the city’s favour. The relationship between property prices and local incomes is considered more favourable than in some other major metros, giving middle class families comparatively better opportunities to own a home.
Healthcare has also contributed to Hyderabad’s strong showing. The city has a large network of speciality hospitals, experienced doctors and advanced medical facilities. Its expanding technology, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors have also created more employment and economic opportunities.
Numbeo’s quality of life assessment looks beyond income alone. Factors such as purchasing power, housing affordability, healthcare, safety, traffic, pollution and climate are considered while evaluating cities.
The latest figures put Hyderabad clearly ahead of the other major Indian metros included in the comparison. Bengaluru’s score stood at 126.03, followed by Delhi at 87.53 and Mumbai at 86.56.
For Hyderabad, the ranking highlights how its relatively lower living costs, stronger purchasing power and expanding services are helping it remain attractive to residents. The challenge now will be maintaining that balance as the city continues to grow rapidly.
