Donald Trump Avenue Hyderabad: The Telangana government has officially renamed the main road leading to the United States Consulate in Hyderabad as Donald Trump Avenue, marking a significant diplomatic gesture that has drawn international attention. The road, located in the Financial District, was previously known as the United States Consulate Road.

Reacting to the development, United States President Donald Trump shared his appreciation through his social media platform Truth Social. Posting photographs from the inauguration ceremony, Trump described the recognition as a historic honor and thanked the people of India along with the Telangana government for the gesture. He noted that it was a rare distinction for a sitting American President to have a road named after him.

The newly named avenue passes through one of Hyderabad’s most prominent technology corridors. The area is home to the United States Consulate and the campuses of leading global technology companies including Google Microsoft and Amazon, highlighting the city’s importance as an international business and innovation hub.

The nameplate was officially unveiled during the Freedom 250 celebrations commemorating the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of American independence. The ceremony was attended by visiting United States Ambassador Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

According to the Telangana government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the decision reflects the growing strategic partnership between India and the United States while recognizing Hyderabad’s expanding global profile. The proposal to rename the road was first announced during the United States India Strategic Partnership Forum held toward the end of 2025.
